CONFIRMED: Tahir Raj Bhasin to play Sunil Gavaskar in Ranveer Singh starrer ‘83’

Kabir Khan’s directorial ’83’ is a biopic on Kapil Dev, the man who captained the Indian cricket team which clinched the first World Cup for India in the year 1983. Ranveer Singh will don the role of Kapil Dev. He has also started preparations for the film. The film has been in the news for quite some time now over the cast of the actors. Now, we have to for you who will play the iconic Sunil Gavaskar in the film.

After announcing a few key actors of the ensemble, the makers have now announced that the role of Sunil Gavaskar will be played by Tahir Raj Bhasin. The makers of the film took to twitter to inform the same. Take a look:

A few days back, the makers of ‘83’ revealed that Punjabi actor and singer Ammy Virk, Tamil actor Jiiva, Sunny Kaushal, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Hardy Sandhu, Sandeep Patil’s son Chirag and Pankaj Tripathi have been roped in for the biopic. The makers have also confirmed the release date of the film as April 10, 2020.

Kapil Dev’s biopic has Pankaj Tripathi as the team manager, Chirag Patil as Sandeep Patil, YouTube star Sahil Khattar as Syed Kirmani, Punjabi actor Ammy Virk as Balvinder Singh and Tamil actor Jiiva as Kris Srikkanth.

Tahir Raj Bhasin is known for films like ‘Mardaani’, ‘Force 2’ and ‘Manto’. Tahir has largely played negative roles and has been widely appreciated for the same.
