Box Office: Aamir Khan starrer ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ sees a huge decline on second day
Yash Raj Films’ ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ after a record-breaking opening day, when it collected Rs 50 crore has seen a huge decline on Day 2 at the box office. The Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan starrer film earned estimated Rs 28 crore on Day 2, according to Box Office India.
Box Office India report further states that, ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ has seen a big drop of around 45% on an all India basis but most places have come down 50%. The drop is around 30% in UP, Gujarat and Bihar but that is due to post Diwali.
So, after getting a bumper opening, Aamir Khan starrer period drama has now earned estimated Rs 78 crore over two days. The film has generally received mixed and average reviews and the audiences have not quite liked the film featuring Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan together for the very first time. The film also has Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh in leading roles.
This is what our reviewer has to say about the film, “Billed as one of the most awaited films of 2018, ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ turns out to be a grand ship that sinks. It fails to invoke any passion (like ‘300’) and it’s predictability fails to make it anything more than a boring snoozefest. It’s clear that none of the actors are used to doing action sequences, and the director (Vijay Krishna Acharya) does not manage to use the huge budget at his disposal to create something thrilling.”
Now let’s see how much the film mints by the end of its first week at the box office. Till then stay tuned for more such interesting updates.
