Vivek Oberoi Recalls Receiving Threat Call From Pakistan During Kurbaan Shoot; They Said, “Khatam Kardenge, Uda Denge”

Vivek Oberoi recently revealed that he received a threatening call traced back to Pakistan while shooting the film Kurbaan in the United States, an incident that compelled him to involve the police and later secure security arrangements in India. Despite Bollywood’s claims of distancing itself from its underworld past, Vivek’s experience suggests that some shadows still linger, even abroad. In an interview, the actor shared that the threatening call, which he received at his hotel during filming, shifted from confusion to fear within hours.

He explained that the call came through his hotel’s answering machine, leaving a menacing message. As he recounted to Pinkvilla, “I was shooting for Kurbaan in the US, and they left a threat on the answering machine. I had to report it to the local authorities.” Once the hotel informed the police, investigations intensified. Vivek was questioned by officers who traced the number to Pakistan and flagged it as a genuine threat. This revelation heightened his fears, especially when the threats extended to India and mentioned his family.

Vivek said the police began investigating immediately and he was questioned by officers. He shared, “I told them, ‘I don’t know anything’. I just landed up in this where they were saying, ‘We know you are here, khatam kar denge, uda denge.’ They were saying such things. And they traced that number back to Pakistan. And they said it’s a real number which has been flagged, that’s when I got scared.”

Initially, Vivek dismissed the call as a prank or drunken joke, but the situation escalated after authorities confirmed its origin. He then hired a lawyer to handle legal formalities and arranged police security in India, as the threats to his family made the danger feel all too real. Vivek’s next project, Mastiii 4, directed by Milap Zaveri, is set to release on November 21, 2025.
