Nagarjuna has finally addressed the circulating rumours suggesting that he declined the role of Rehman Dakait in the spy thriller Dhurandhar. Actor Akshaye Khanna has been receiving widespread acclaim for his intense portrayal of gangster Rehman Dakait in Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar. However, reports were indicating that Nagarjuna was the first choice for the role before it ultimately went to Akshaye. Now, Nagarjuna has spoken out to clarify the situation.
Nagarjuna Clarifies NOT Being A Part Of Ranveer Singh Led Dhurandhar
In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Nagarjuna directly addressed the speculation about him turning down the role. Refuting the rumours that Akshaye replaced him, he said, “Absolutely not. I was not offered the role, though I wish I had been… Dhurandhar is a superb film… The direction by Aditya Dhar is incredible. I loved his earlier film Uri as well! The acting by everyone in the film is fantastic, and Akshaye Khanna was outstanding… I’m looking forward to the sequel! Wishing them another blockbuster.”
Akshaye Khanna’s performance in Dhurandhar has been highly praised. In the film, he portrayed the formidable Pakistani gangster Rehman Dakait, with many viewers claiming he stole the show, especially with his viral dance entry to Flipperachi’s Fa9la.
Currently, Nagarjuna is working on his 100th film. During the interview, he also shared his thoughts on this project. He stated, “We’re not rushing anything. There’s no rush to finish the film. We want it to be very special. After Dhurandhar, it’s clear that audiences now expect international standards of storytelling.”
