Taapsee Pannu Assi

Taapsee Pannu’s just-released courtroom drama – Assi, has been loved by critics but is struggling to mint moolah at the box office. As per the latest box office report, the Anubhav Sinha directed film has begun its theatrical run on a modest note and amassed less than Rs 1 crore at the box office on Friday. Scroll below to know how much the film earned on its opening day.

Assi Box Office

As reported by trade website Sacnilk, Assi collected Rs 95 lakh nett in India on Day 1 (early estimate). This opening day collection doesn’t look promising for the film in the long run. Emraan Hashmi and Yami Gautam-led courtroom drama Haq opened to with a higher income – Rs 1.75 crore in November 2025. Haq’s lifetime collection in India totaled to Rs 19.86 crore. If Assi opened with a lesser amount, it’s to be seen if it will touch the Rs 20 crore before exiting theatres.

The opening day occupancy figures reflect the film’s slow start. As per reports, Assi recorded 3.88% occupancy in the morning shows, followed by 7.24% in the afternoon and then a dip to 6.92% in the evening. While collections remained muted across most circuits, Chennai emerged as a comparatively stronger territory, registering nearly 20% occupancy.
