Dream Girl 2 box office collection: Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday starrer promises a spectacular weekend, earns more than Rs 14 cr on Day 2

Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday starrer much-anticipated comedy film Dream Girl 2 was released in theatres on 25 August. Looking at its two-day box office collection, we can surely say that Dream Girl 2 is another sequel that is on its way to creating records at the box office with its collection. Despite facing tough competition with Gadar 2 at the ticket windows, it witnessed a double-digit opening on Day 1. With the help of positive word of mouth, the film witnessed growth on its second day as well.

The comic caper earned Rs 10.69 crore on Friday. It witnessed a 31.15% jump on Saturday and minted Rs 14.02 crore on Day 2. With this, the two-day box office collection of the film stands at ₹24.69 crore. The entertainer had an overall 41.40 per cent Hindi occupancy on Saturday.

About the film

Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, the comic caper is a sequel to Ayushmann’s 2019 hit of the same title. The actor reprises his role of Karam aka Pooja, who decides to cross-dress as a girl to make enough money to marry the love of his life, played by Ananya Panday. The film also features Paresh Rawal, Annu Kapoor, Rajpal Yadav, Vijay Raaz, Asrani, Abhishek Banerjee, Manjot Singh and Seema Pahwa. It is produced by Ektaa R Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures.

Dream Girl 2 review

At Bollywood Bubble, we gave 3 stars out of 5 to Dream Girl 2. A part of the review reads, “The film marks Ayushmann’s return as Pooja who is joined by Ananya Panday in this one. The film is based on how far a lover will go to convince her ladylove’s father for marriage… If you’re looking for a fun watch this weekend then Dream Girl 2 is an apt choice for you. However, it’s not as good as the first part.”
