Ayesha Jhulka On Salman Khan
In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Bubble, Ayesha Jhulka talks about how Salman Khan saved her life. She says, “Nahi kya tha, ki pehele koi walkie-talkies toh hote nahi the, rumaal dikhao wala chalta tha, toh we were on the tracks, we were shooting, Nahi Padhni Mujhe ABC, that song, toh waise hi bada hi masti mazaak wala song tha, aur camera man ne camera laga rakkha tha aur mujhe patri ke andar naachna tha aur Salman pehele patri par naach raha tha and see this was in Igatpuri, this was not some normal station. Toh woh goods ki gaadiyan jaati thi tracks se, toh permission lekar rakkhi thi and the train was going to stop for that much time and aapko jhande dikhayenge toh hatt jaana, humara gaana chal raha hai itni zor-zor se and humlog shot de rahe the.” (Back then, signals were given with handkerchiefs. While shooting Nahi Padhni Mujhe ABC in Igatpuri, Salman danced on the tracks while I danced inside them. We had permission, and the train was set to stop briefly, but with the loud music, we missed the signal to move.)
“I only remember ki mereko aise udaya ki mujhe aisa laga ki mere sab body parts idhar-udhar chale gaaye, he just had to pull me because he heard that, most of them must have heard it but it was such a quick moment na, you couldn’t imagine ki the train is actually coming you know. Baad me mujhe sabne bola ki ‘Abe teri jaan bachai hai’ actually nahi samajh aa raha tha kuch uss time pe and meri bohot stupid aadat thi mai hasti reheti thi haar cheez pe for no reason, and Salman was screaming at the unit guys because he could have also been inside the shot.” (I just remember Salman yanking me so hard it felt like my body scattered. He heard the train coming—maybe others did too—but it happened so fast I couldn’t process it. Later, everyone said, ‘He saved your life,’ but I was too shocked. I even laughed, while Salman yelled at the crew since he could’ve been caught in the shot too.)
