Divyenndu opens up about his transition from comedy roles to serious roles

Divyenndu Sharma was seen in Pyaar Ka Punchnama which gave him a bigger path to play more comedy roles. After certain comic roles, he played more serious roles and earned appreciation for the same. During a chat with us, Divyenndu opened up about his transition and shared that it was painful. He said, “It was hard and very painful. Because people just want to see that one side of you as an actor which they have seen already and being in a creative business they are not using the basic thing which is creativity of looking someone in a different light.

He added, “So I struggled a lot there. It was not easy to continuously say ‘no’ to projects because they were coming in the same space which wasn’t exciting me as an actor. To say no and then to wait for the right project to come, it was quite a ride. But I am so grateful that it finally happened. You also want to prove it to yourself also ke aap koi mugaalte me toh nahi jee rahe. That you think that you can do something different and kya pata ke aap nahi kar pao. So there comes a time jaha thodasa doubt aa bhi jaaye. Shabdo me kehne par kaafi squeezed lagta hai but yes, it was there.

Further, we also asked whether he faced self-doubt during the transition. To this, Divyenndu said, “Self doubt kabhi kabhi aata hai par hamesha nahi aata hai. There are times when you feel that is it something that I am looking myself in the mirror in a certain light and is it that hard for people to imagine for you to do a different kind of a job. So that glitch comes which is slightly disturbing.”

Not only this, but further in the interview, Divyenndu Sharma also shared an interesting incident of the hook!
