EXCLUSIVE: Did you know? Gauahar Khan was a pap for Lara Dutta, Priyanka Chopra & Dia Mirza during their pageant days

Gauahar Khan is one of the most popular and successful actresses in the industry. Over the years, she has been a part of films like Badrinath Ki Dulhania, Ishaqzaade, Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year, and Begum Jaan among others. For the uninitiated, Gauahar began her career as a model. She won the title of Femina Miss India International 2002. Recently, Gauahar joined Bollywood Bubble for an exclusive interview and spoke about a lot of things including motherhood, modelling days, breakup with Kushal Tandon, and Bigg Boss.

Gauahar Khan recalls working as a pap

During the candid conversation, Gauahar revealed that she was a paparazzo for Lara Dutta, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Dia Mirza’s Miss India days. For the unversed, Priyanka, Lara, and Dia had all won international pageants back in 2000. While Priyanka was crowned ‘Miss India’, Lara was crowned ‘Miss Universe’ and Dia won ‘Miss Asia Pacific’.

Recalling the modelling days, Gauahar said, “So, in the year that Lara Dutta, Priyanka Chopra, and Dia Mirza all of the won, Waluscha De Sousa was also a contestant that year. If you watched the pageant, it happened in Pune City and there was a swimming suit round in which paparazzis came out and guess who the paparazzi was? I was one of them because at that time mein Pune mein rehti thi and college going ladki thi.”

She added, “I think I was in 11^th standard and I was the paparazzi on stage and I’m clicking Lara Dutta, I’m clicking Priyanka Chopra and I didn’t know who’s gonna win and I was clicking contestants.”

Gauahar recalls her modelling days

The actress went on to add, “So yes, I’ve been there and then 2 years later I am a contestant. I’ve reached it. I didn’t even audition for Miss India. Jab maine photo bheja tha, Femina ne mujhe call aya tha ke Mr Pradeep Guha is visiting Pune and I had malaria. I was in 103 fever and I was like I can’t come and I’m not good. They said they like your picture so much, please come, show your face and let Mr Guha meet you in person and then see how it goes. I said okay. I went there wearing a normal jeans, top and a shawl.” After the meeting, Gauahar revealed that she home.

She continued, “I didn’t do swimsuit round, weight or height check. I got a call next day saying ‘you’re selected for the national round. That’s how it happened.” Post that, there was no looking back for her. From being a model, VJ to an actor, Gauahar has always won hearts.
