While Kavita has a career spanning over 18 years, Kanishk also entered the industry as quite an early age. When we asked him what was his learning from his mother’s journey, Kanishk told, “My brother and I started getting mature quite early. Something we have learnt is to not get enamoured by fame and success as it is temporary. Instead our focus should be on honing our skills.

Sharing her idea of fame, Kanishk’s mother Kavita added, “I have been in the industry for 18 years and I am not working for fame. I sing because I am passionate about it. Be it Iktara or even Rangisari, when I was working on these sings I didn’t expect it will be this hit. My only intent is that I heal people with my music.”

Kanishk on dealing with failure

We also questioned Kanishk how does he react when a certain music does not get recognised. He admitted, “When a song does not get expected recognition, it feels bad. But there are ways to cope up with it. Nowadays there are various mediums through which song can reach people and get it due.

Recalling an incident he reminisced, “I remember when Sonu Nigam’s song Abhi Mujh Mein Kahin released that song was not promoted. I remember very clearly that he performed the song at every possible place and later it got accolades. I learnt this from him.
