EXCLUSIVE: Mouni Roy recalls forgetting her lines in front of Shah Rukh Khan during Brahmastra

Last year, Mouni Roy delivered a terrific performance as Junoon in Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva. The actress’ villainous avatar in the Ayan Mukerji directorial won hearts. Recently, Mouni joined Bollywood Bubble for a candid conversation and recalled shooting with Shah Rukh Khan for Brahmastra. The actress heaped praises on SRK.

Mouni Roy recalls working with Shah Rukh Khan

Given that Mouni will be hosting Temptation Island, we asked her if she was ‘tempted’ by SRK while working with him and she replied saying, “No, I was in awe. Awe is the word. I remember day one, usually I’m good with my lines and I memorise them quickly and the AD came and asked me, ‘Ma’am, have you done your lines?’ I said, ‘Yeah’. And then, I went on set and I saw him (Shah Rukh Khan).”

The actress added, “In the first rehearsal take I forgot my first line because it’s such an out of body experience when’s standing in front of you. But he’s lovely. He’s just the wittiest, kindest, and most amazing man ever.”

Mouni as Junoon was a treat to watch. The actress received a lot of love for her performance in the film. Recalling audiences’ reactions, Mouni said, “I didn’t expect this kind of reaction. I thought people are going to like it but also it was my garb was outlandish and I had to speak in shudh Hindi so I didn’t know how people are going to receive the role but I was overjoyed, it would be an understatement when I kind of understood the audience’s reaction, read the reviews. So, it was one character that unanimously everybody loved to hate. When something like that happens, it leaves you with a lot of gratitude. I was overwhelmed.”

Apart from Mouni and Shah Rukh Khan, Brahmastra also starred Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, and Nagarjuna.
