Nimrit Kaur Says, ‘We Live In A Man’s World’
When asked if we still live in a world where sexism exists, Nimrat Kaur responded, “Subtly, of course, there is sexism everywhere around us. You know, we live in a man’s world, and not just in the industry — in the world we live in as well. So, there are places and rooms where you sense a little boys’ club, and you think, okay, these jokes are only meant for them, and we’re not a part of it or whatever. But I feel that if you walk into a room with the attitude that you are aware of the situation, it’s only a matter of time before things change. Subtly, you let your presence be known. That’s what happens — at least, that’s what has happened to me — when I walk into a room, and everyone soon realises, ‘Hey, that’s secondary. She is a person first, with such and such qualities.’”
