Prithviraj Sukumaran is an actor, producer, director, and playback singer who primarily works in Malayalam films. Having appeared in over 100 films, he is considered among the highest-paid Malayalam actors and is a recipient of the National Award too. While promoting his upcoming film, Sarzameen, the actor got candid. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, Prithviraj Sukumaran opened up on working with Kajol Devgan for Sarzameen, and calls her a constant caffeine overdose.
Prithviraj Sukumaran On Working With Kajol
When asked about his bond with Kajol Devgan while shooting for Sarzameen, Prithviraj Sukumaran described working with her, “She’s wonderful, she’s a truly gifted artist. And, she is an instinctive actor. The greatest thing about collaborating with such actors is that they make the pitch for your character unpredictable. Because it’s not like you have rehearsed with them a couple of times. It also happens with Mohanlal sir. He’s very instinctive as an actor. If we do 5 takes with him, each take will be different from the others. Kajol is a lot like him. She truly believes in being instinctive about her performance pitch.”
He added, “And it works because she’s so gifted. She’s a gifted actor. I had a lot of fun on set. She is like this bundle of energy, just like a constant caffeine overdose, in a very nice way. However, sometimes it’s tough to do an emotional scene for both of us. There is such a scene in the film. In the scene, she says, ‘How much might a son love his mother, he will always grow up to be his father.’ That particular scene, we had a tough time not laughing for some reason. And Kayoze Irani, the director, had given up on us. But it was fun, and I have been a huge fan of her. And I hope we get to collaborate more in the future.”
