Shiv Thakare On Celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi Every Year
When asked about how he celebrates Ganpati Puja every year, Shiv Thakare said, “10 din toh hum bahut kuch karte hain ki hum khana khane bula lete hain. But wo sweet wala prank hota hai. Matlab, mahaprasad hota hai hamare ghar pe toh 12:00 baje hota hai. Toh jo mere doston aur sab ko bulaya jaata hai, aur wo mahaprasad bade level pe hota hai. Toh mere jo close dost hote hain, jaise ye log hain, inko main 12:00 baje ka timing nahi dunga. Main 9:00 baje ka dunga. Bolenge, ‘Acha jevan karna hai toh matlab kaam karna padega na.’ Toh ye prank hota hai faayde ka – ki wo log mere saath rahe, khade rahe, aur papa ki bhi help karein aur meri bhi help karein.”
Shiv Thakare On Celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi Before His Fame
Speaking of celebrating Ganpati Puja before he became famous, Shiv described, “Grand hi hota tha Bappa ke liye. Grand matlab kya hota hai? Bappa ki seva poori tarah honi chahiye. Matlab grand ka matlab yeh nahi hota ki mujhe 2–3 lakh ka DJ ya Nasik dhol bulao. Bappa yeh kehte hain ki bas unke paas 11 ya 21 modak ho, durva ho, aur dil se unki pooja ho. Aur kya chahiye? Yeh toh har ghar mein hota hai. Iske liye kuch nahi chahiye. Jab dil se karoge na, toh bahut kuch aata hai. Jo mujhe mila hai, jo unexpected hai – yeh sab Bappa ki krupa hai mere paas.”
Shiv On What’s Special This Ganesh Chaturthi
When asked what he will be doing special for this year’s Ganpati Puja, the Roadies fame answered, “Mujhe mere ek dost ne hi kaha tha ki agar aap Bhagwan ki dua se Rs10 bhi kama rahe ho, toh ek mahaprasad rakhna chahiye. Toh maine do–teen saal se mahaprasad rakha hai ki jo close wale hote hain unko ghar pe bulao, unko pyaar se, dil se khilao. Aur unke alawa bhi jahan pe aap de sakte ho, without camera, matlab camera on na karke – agar kisi ki help kar sakte ho toh 10 din bilkul karo.“
He added, “Yeh main bata raha hoon, shayad galat hai, par mere pet mein zyada cheezein rehti nahi hain (raaz chupate nahi bante). Aapne poocha toh bata diya. Bas yehi hota hai ki kuch cheezein social media ke alawa bhi karni chahiye, maine bhi karni chahiye. Toh 10 din Bappa ko khush karna hai. Mujhe lagta hai ghar mein jitna ho sake, thoda bhandaara rakho aur jitna bahar walon ko khila sakte ho, woh chupchaap aaram se karo. Bappa bhi aaram se aapko bahut saari cheezein denge.”
Shiv Thakare Shares His Excitement
Talking about his excitement about the festival, Thakare said, “Dekho, pehli baar agar main bataun, meri jo planning thi wo ek mahina pehle hi Papa ke liye final ki. Matlab, main usually last moment karne wala banda hoon, ki do din pehle sab karunga. Lekin is baar maine proper planning ki. Mandap, decoration sab ek mahina pehle decide kiya. Khaana, bhandaara – sabki dates book hui. Kaunse lights lagenge – sab decide hua. Matlab, socho – har saal ek alag-alag excitement level hoti hai. Ki is baar yeh karenge, yeh murti laayenge, aur 10 din mein Lalbaug jaana hai, Dagdusheth jaana hai, Girgaon Chowpatty ke Ganpati dekhne jaana hai.”
The actor concluded, “Mujhe lagta hai main akela nahi hoon. Har Mumbaikar, har Maharashtra mein rehne wala banda, aur Bharat ke bahar tak jo spiritual hain – sab aise hi feel karte hain. Bappa hi aise hain na, ki main saal bhar inke saath connected rehta hoon. Inse bahut saari baatein share karta hoon. Aur mujhe lagta hai aap sab log bhi waise hi honge. Bappa ke saath ek apnapan hai, ek connection hai.”
