Sooraj Pancholi is an Indian actor who appears in Hindi-language films. The son of actors Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab, he debuted with the 2015 romantic action film Hero, for which he won a Filmfare Award for Best Newcomer. He also starred in the 2019 action drama film Satellite Shankar opposite Megha Akash. In his FIRST podcast post getting acquitted in his 12-year-long legal battle, with Bollywood Bubble, Sooraj Pancholi calls for a ban on Pakistani artists after the Pahalgam terror attack and questions why we pay for their bullets.
Sooraj Pancholi Opens Up On Banning Pakistani Artists
Speaking of banning Pakistani artists, Sooraj said, “I think we have enough actors here in India. If actors are coming from there, they’re getting paid by us, then going back and paying taxes in their country. So, why are we paying for their bullets? I see it like that. I see it purely like that. So, when the time is right, hopefully, we’ll all make movies together. But it’s either there or not there.”
Ban On Pakistani Artists
Pakistani artists who were once celebrated for their contributions to Hindi films have encountered resistance in India. The relations between the two countries deteriorate due to acts of terrorism. In 2016, following the Uri terror attack that killed 19 Indian soldiers, Pakistani artists were barred from participating in the Indian film and music industry. Fawad Khan was then very popular in India. However, the Kapoor and Sons actor faced backlash for his role in Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Johar subsequently apologised, stating he would not collaborate with Pakistani artists in the future. The 2017 film Raees, featuring Pakistani actress Mahira Khan, also faced difficulties. Now, after the Phalgam Terror Attack in 2025, AICWA reaffirms its strict and complete ban on Pakistani artists, filmmakers, and financiers working in India. No Indian artist will collaborate with any Pakistani talent, nor will any global platform be shared with them.
