Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dilwale‘, recently entered the list of highest foreign grosser within ten days of hitting the theaters. The Rohit Shetty directorial that has been making records at the box office minted around $18.5 million in the first 10 days of release. Released on 18 Decemeber that marked the return of Bollywood’s epic jodi of SRK and Kajol was released in 1,210 screens abroad.

Aamir Khan’s PK that had collected around $47 million overseas stands first followed by Salman Khan’s ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ at $29 million, followed by ‘Dhoom 3’ at $28 million. Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon starrer stands at number seven position in the top ten Bollywood movies overseas.

Gaurav Verma, Chief Revenue Officer, Red Chillies Entertainments Pvt. Ltd said, “Shah Rukh Khan’s popularity in the international circuit makes it possible to explore new territories. Ideally, around 85-90 per cent of the foreign collection comes from traditional markets. However, in case of Dilwale, we notice the new or non-traditional markets’ contribution at 30-35 per cent. This has helped expand the scope of the international performance for the film.”

He further added that, “South East Asian markets like Malaysia and Indonesia are also contributing well to the foreign collection. The film’s headline song, Gerua, was dubbed in Malay to familiarize audiences. It was the top song on iTunes in Malaysia around the release.”

Shah Rukh Khan has two films lined up for release in 2016, ‘Fan’ and ‘Raees’.
