Popular Telugu actor Fish Venkat, whose real name was Venkat Raj, has passed away at the age of 53. He died on Friday at a private hospital in Hyderabad after struggling with kidney-related health problems for a long time.

A few days ago, his condition became worse, and he was admitted to the hospital. Doctors said his kidneys had completely failed. Recently, his daughter shared a video saying that her father needed a kidney transplant, but the family could not afford the high cost of the treatment. She said, “Daddy is not well and is in serious condition. He’s in the ICU and needs a kidney transplant, which will cost us at least Rs. 50 lakh.”
Fish Venkat was born in Hyderabad and began his acting career in the early 2000s. He got his first break with a small role in the film Kushi. Over time, he became very popular for his comic roles and unique acting style.
He was loved by audiences for his funny performances and became well-known for roles in movies like Bunny, Adhurs, Dhee, and Mirapakay. His sense of humor and strong screen presence made him a favorite among Telugu movie fans.

In an emotional video, Venkat’s daughter Sravanthi said, “Daddy is very unwell and in a serious condition. He’s in the ICU and requires a kidney transplant, which will cost us at least Rs 50 lakh. Prabhas’ assistant reached out to us and assured us of financial support. They asked us to inform them when the transplant happens so they can cover the cost.”
However, the family later clarified that although support was promised, no funds or follow-up communication had been received. In an interview with Suman TV, a family member said, “Actually, nothing like that happened. Some unknown person called us pretending to be Prabhas Anna’s assistant. We found out later that it was a fake call. He doesn’t even know this is happening. We haven’t received any financial help yet.”
Meanwhile, actor Pawan Kalyan reportedly donated Rs 2 lakh to help the family during this crisis. Sravanthi has also urged stars like Chiranjeevi, Allu Arjun, and Jr. NTR to amplify their appeal and assist in finding a suitable kidney donor.
His passing has left fans and the Telugu film industry heartbroken. Many people have taken to social media to share their sadness and memories of the late actor.
