Actor Nakuul Mehta is one of the few stars from the Telly world who shares his opinions on social media, be it political or social. Nakuul never shies away from penning his thoughts. While some strongly agree with the actor, there are some who strongly disagree and end up bashing him on social media. However, social media trolls have become so common that when we asked Nakuul if social media trolling affects him, his answer is too good. Nakuul Mehta told us on trolls, “It doesn’t bother me at all, actually, I laugh about it, as you said, it’s faceless. It’s very easy to say that have a judgement because all of us are our own heroes on social media. It doesn’t affect me, in fact, it spurs me on that more people are affected by the art I’m creating or the work I’m doing or the thoughts I’m sharing. I genuinely laugh about it and I feel you have time to give your opinions on people when you are yourself are not creating. I’m not being deterred by that and a lot of people say ‘that you’re the only voice from the fraternity (to give opinions)’ but I would beg to differ. I think everyone has their unique strengths, I’m not worried about how this will impact, also understanding my privilege that Hindu surname really helps in the current environment. If someone else was doing it, it would be much harder. I don’t think I’m doing anything extraordinary, I’m doing what anybody else in my would feel and a lot of people feel this. I know a lot of people from my fraternity must be feeling this and they must be having their reasons for not speaking up which is fine. So, I don’t think me speaking about social issues should be any reason to look down upon.

When asked if it bothers his family as well as his wife Jankee Parekh, he said, “My mother, in a few cases, told me to go easy, my uncle had also called me but they know what I stand for is truth and it is sort of hard to fight with that. while they understand that, they also understand that’s insyncilally me. And if you talk about being trolled, there are a lot of colleagues of mine who put dancing reels and seducing the camera and they get trolled for that, not judging that. Today, you get trolled for everything because that’s the environment we are in, right. That doesn’t affect me at all.
