kumkum bhagya to end soon

Zee TV’s ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ is reportedly going off-air after 11 years. The show might make way for new programs like ‘Ganga Mai Ki Betiyaan’. Zee TV’s popular series ‘Kumkum Bhagya’, which has been a staple of Indian television since 2014, is said to be concluding. It appears that Zee is revamping its lineup with fresh content. The Ekta Kapoor-produced show has enjoyed a loyal fan base over the years, but recently, ratings have declined, prompting the channel to decide to end it.

Kumkum Bhagya To End After 11 Years?

Reports indicate that ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ will be replaced by a new show titled ‘Ganga Mai Ki Betiyaan’. Produced by Ravie Dubey and Sargun Mehta’s Dreamiyata Entertainment, it stars Amandeep Sidhu, Sheezan Khan, and Shubhangi Latkar. The new show is still awaiting a time slot but is expected to occupy the space left by ‘Kumkum Bhagya’.

A source close to the production told Iwmbuzz.com, “Kumkum Bhagya, which presently has Pranali Rathod, Namik Paul, and Akshay Bindra as the fourth-generation leads, will soon go off air. The decision has been made to end the long-running show due to a drop in TRPs.”

It is also reported that the final episode of ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ will air on September 7. The channel reportedly offered Ektaa Kapoor two options: either to conclude the show or move it to the 7 o’clock slot. The producer chose to bring the show to an end. The show’s TRP has been below average for some time, with ratings dropping significantly over the last three seasons.

To accommodate this programming shift, Zee TV has been reworking its schedule, introducing new shows and shifting timings for existing ones like ‘Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile’, ‘Vasudha’, and ‘Jagriti Ek Nayi Subah’. Additionally, a new reality show, ‘Chhoriyan Chali Gaon’, has been launched and is receiving a positive response.
