Riteish Deshmukh’s ambitious historical drama, Raja Shivaji, released in theatres on May 1, and here is the box office collection report for its opening weekend. On Day 4, as reported by Sacnilk, Raja Shivaji earned a net of Rs 5.60 crore across 5,145 shows. This brings the total gross collections in India to Rs 46.95 crore and the total net collections in India to Rs 39.50 crore so far. The Marathi version collected Rs 27.15 Cr while the Hindi cut collected Rs 12.35 Cr.

About Raja Shivaji
Raja Shivaji is a film co-written and directed by Riteish Deshmukh, based on the life of Shivaji, the founder of the Maratha Empire. Genelia D’Souza and Jyoti Deshpande have produced the film. Riteish and Genelia play Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Saibai, respectively. Their sons, Rahyl and Riaan, portray young Shivaji.
The film also features Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, Mahesh Manjrekar, Sachin Khedekar, Bhagyashree, Fardeen Khan, Jitendra Joshi, and Amole Gupte in key roles. Reportedly, this is the most expensive Marathi film ever made, with a budget of Rs 100 crore. It was also released in Hindi and has received mixed reviews.
