Actor Huma Qureshi recently opened up about her experience working in Jolly LLB 2, revealing that a major portion of her role was removed during the film’s editing. The actress, who starred alongside Akshay Kumar in the courtroom drama, shared that the changes left her disappointed as her character’s depth was lost in the final cut.
Huma Qureshi On Her Role In Jolly LLB 2
In a candid chat with Mid-Day, Huma said, “Our first collaboration was on Jolly LLB 2. It was not a very big part, but during the edit, my role became even smaller.”
Recalling her reaction, she added, “I remember being really upset about it and saying, ‘I’m not doing anything in this film.’” The actress further shared that one of her strongest scenes, which appeared in the trailer, was eventually cut from the movie.
“Sometimes, some of your best scenes get cut out. No one really plans it, but it happens. I was very upset that I didn’t really have an arc. I detest from my core playing ornamental parts, and that’s what it ended up becoming. But sometimes there’s nothing you can do,” Huma expressed.
Meanwhile, the upcoming sequel, Jolly LLB 3, will bring Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi together once again for a courtroom face-off. Directed by Subhash Kapoor, the film also stars Huma Qureshi, Amrita Rao, Seema Biswas, Saurabh Shukla, and Gajraj Rao.
The film, which has been granted a U/A 16+ certificate by the CBFC, will reportedly release in theatres before streaming on Netflix and Jio Hotstar from November 14, 2025. The story revolves around two lawyers, Jagdish “Jolly” Tyagi and Jagdwishwar “Jolly” Mishra, clashing over a high-profile land-grabbing case that challenges the meaning of justice and integrity.
