Imran Khan Admits Having PR, Managers Is Not Meant For Him Ahead Of Comeback

Imran Khan is gearing up for his highly anticipated comeback with the upcoming film Adhoore Hum Adhoore Tum, in which he stars alongside Bhumi Pednekar and Gurfateh Pirzada. After years of absence from the big screen, Imran recently shared insights into his approach to his career, revealing that he prefers to steer clear of managers and PR teams, opting instead to select projects that resonate with him personally and work at his own pace.

Imran Khan Reveals Why He Doesn’t Want PR Or Managers

In an interview with HT, Khan explained, “I’ve worked with managers and PR teams before. Having experienced it, I realise it’s not for me. I don’t want a manager going out there looking for work on my behalf. Their commission depends on keeping me busy, which can sometimes lead to pushing me into roles I’m not interested in. I want to find my own work.”

He added, “The PR game is demanding, requiring hours of strategizing and planning, and people are increasingly aware of it. It often leads to speculation—people questioning if it’s a PR stunt or if there’s some hidden agenda. I prefer to work at my own speed.”

Discussing his film Adhoore Hum Adhoore Tum, Imran described it as a “character-driven story that reflects where I am in my life.” He added, “I’m a divorced man in my 40s and a parent. A story with those shades of experience is what makes it compelling for me.”

Imran began his career as a child actor, with small roles in films like Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak and Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar. His breakthrough as an adult came with Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na, in 2008. It was directed by Abbas Tyrewala and produced by Aamir Khan. The film, a youthful romantic comedy, struck a chord with audiences. Imran’s portrayal of the sweet, earnest Jai Singh Rathore, opposite Genelia D’Souza. He earned him the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut.

Following his debut, Imran starred in several romantic comedies such as I Hate Luv Storys (2010), Break Ke Baad (2010), and Mere Brother Ki Dulhan (2011). In 2011, he took a risk with the dark comedy Delhi Belly, produced by Aamir Khan.
