Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana Moves Into Post-Production

Nitesh Tiwari’s much-awaited Ramayana, produced by Namit Malhotra, is shaping up to be one of the biggest films ever made in India. Starring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana, the film has already created massive buzz. Even though the first part is set to release only in Diwali 2026, the makers have completed some major milestones.

Final Edit Locked For Ramayana: Part One

The shooting of Ramayana: Part 1 was completed in June 2025. Since then, director Nitesh Tiwari has been working on the edit, which is now locked. A source told Pinkvilla, “They have frozen the run time, locked the line-up for the saga, and even finished the first round of VFX. The team has now moved into an extended stage of post-production.”

The film will spend almost 300 days on VFX alone, as visual effects play a central role in recreating the grandeur of the mythological epic.

Work On Ramayana Part Two Before Release Of Part One

Interestingly, the makers are not waiting for the release of Part 1 before starting the sequel. The insider revealed, “The intent is to lock the final cut of Ramayana: Part One by Summer 2026, aiming for a grand Diwali release. At the same time, the shooting for the second part is expected to finish by mid-2026 and then move into post-production.”

This strategy allows the team to maintain continuity and keep the massive project on track. Meanwhile, a carefully planned marketing campaign will be rolled out throughout 2026, ensuring the film remains in the spotlight.
