An audio clip surfaced in which boxer-turned-gangster Hari Chand Jaat, also known as Harry Boxer, threatened Bollywood stars Ranveer Singh and Rohit Shetty earlier today. The three-minute recording, sent on Friday, contained a warning of violence if their demands were not met. This comes right after the Mumbai Police recorded statements from the managers of both Rohit Shetty and actor Ranveer Singh.
Rohit Shetty, Ranveer Singh Receive Fresh Threat Calls
In the clip, Jaat is heard threatening Singh and Shetty with “severe consequences” for their teams if they failed to comply and “fall in line.” Mumbai Police’s Crime Branch officials confirmed that the threats were made on behalf of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
What Happened To Ranveer Singh?
Earlier this week, there were unconfirmed reports of threats to Ranveer Singh. However, crime branch sources clarified on Friday that “the voice in the new clip appears to belong to Harry Boxer, an aide of incarcerated gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and his younger brother Anmol.” They added that the former boxer and boxing coach from Rajasthan is currently settled in Canada.
The police officer stated, “In the clip, the individual claims to be a loyal associate of Lawrence Bishnoi and threatens to teach Ranveer Singh a lesson, claiming that Singh has gone back on his promise to pay Rs 1 crore.” The recording also includes insults directed at the duo for underestimating the gang. Harry is heard saying that the gang knows the whereabouts of the film personalities’ teams, including their commuting routes, and warns that they will start eliminating them one by one if their demands are not met.
The police have sent the voice clip to the forensic science laboratory for verification, along with samples of Harry Boxer’s voice that he had previously provided. The officer noted, “Harry Boxer had earlier threatened Ranveer Singh and demanded Rs 1 crore from him.”
What Happened At Shetty’s Residence?
Last week, assailants fired four rounds outside Shetty’s home, prompting heavy police deployment around the building. Authorities arrived at the scene with forensic teams to secure the premises and conduct a thorough investigation. No injuries were reported in the incident. Officials confirmed that an inquiry is ongoing, with all angles being examined to identify those responsible.
Mumbai Police have taken significant steps in the investigation of the recent shooting outside filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s residence. Additionally, the Crime Branch recreated the firing sequence at Shetty’s Juhu residence by retracing the scooter route used by the accused from Pune to Mumbai.
What Are The Latest Developments?
In a recent development, police officials have also reconstructed the events leading up to the firing, including the transportation of a scooter from Pune to Mumbai. This detailed re-enactment aims to verify key details and collect additional evidence.
Amid rising security concerns among celebrities, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has written to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, requesting an urgent meeting to discuss the threat landscape. Earlier this month, four rounds of gunfire were exchanged outside Shetty’s Juhu residence. In connection with the case, five suspects have been arrested and produced before a special court under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA). The court has remanded all five to police custody until February 17.
