‘Panipat’ Box-Office Report: Arjun Kapoor-Sanjay Dutt starrer gets a decent opening on Day 1

On Friday i.e December 6, two movies hit the theatres-one is ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh’ and the other is ‘Panipat’. Both are of different genres. The former is a romantic-comedy while the latter is a historical drama based on the Third Battle of Panipat. ‘Panipat’ starred Arjun Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Sanjay Dutt in titular roles. On Day 1, the movie opened with a decent amount at the box-office.

Trade analyst and film critic, Taran Adarsh took to his Twitter handle to share the Day 1 collection of ‘Panipat’. He tweeted, “#Panipat records low numbers on Day 1… Reports [word of mouth] are positive and its biz, hopefully, should see a turnaround on Day 2 and 3… Fri ₹ 4.12 cr [2395 screens]. #India biz… Showcasing at multiplexes affected due to excessive run time [close to 3 hours].”

The movie received positive reviews from the critics and as said by Taran Adarsh, the word of mouth might help the movie to encash a good amount in the coming days.

Directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, the movie also starred Mohnish Bahl, Padmini Kolhapure, Zeenat Aman, Sahil Salathia, Kunal Kapoor, Abhishek Nigam, Ravindra Mahajani, Gashmeer Mahajani, and Nawab Shah among others.
