Sitaare Zameen Par Box Office Day 1: Aamir Khan’s Sports Drama Sees Decent Start; Mints Rs 11.70 Cr

Aamir Khan’s much-awaited film Sitaare Zameen Par hit theatres on Friday, June 20, 2025. The movie had a good buzz before its release, and many expected it to open well. As per early reports by Sacnilk, the film collected around Rs 11.70 crore on its first day across all languages, which is considered a decent start.

The reviews for the film have been very positive, and audiences are appreciating the story and performances. Because of this strong word of mouth, Sitaare Zameen Par is expected to perform even better over the weekend. If the trend continues, the film could earn Rs 40–45 crore by Sunday.

Although the makers haven’t shared the official budget, media sources suggest it is between Rs 80–90 crore. This means the film needs to do well not just over the weekend but also during the weekdays to recover its cost and make a profit.

Interestingly, Aamir Khan has chosen to release the movie without any OTT deal in place. While many films secure streaming rights before release, Aamir has taken a bold step by relying fully on theatrical performance.
