As the release date for Sarzameen approaches, all eyes are once again on Ibrahim Ali Khan. The upcoming film, directed by Kayoze Irani and streaming on JioHotstar from July 25, stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Kajol, and Ibrahim in key roles. This marks Ibrahim’s second big project after his OTT debut Nadaaniyan, which received mixed reviews and led to some online trolling.
Prithviraj On Ibrahim’s Trolling For Sarzameen
Speaking about the criticism around Ibrahim, co-star Prithviraj Sukumaran shared his thoughts in an interview with India Today. “See, Ibrahim will be wonderful in this film, but that’s not going to put an end to anything,” he said. Prithviraj pointed out that even the biggest stars aren’t spared criticism. “If Shah Rukh Khan sir can still be criticised, why can’t Ibrahim Ali Khan be criticised? Come on. From where I come from, Mohanlal sir and Mammootty sir are still criticised.”
He explained that dealing with negativity is part of an actor’s journey, no matter how experienced or popular. “You think, ‘Oh, that one blockbuster,’ and then it gets easier? No. It does not. It never gets easier. The idea is that you start really enjoying the grind.”
Prithviraj also praised Ibrahim’s dedication to the film, saying, “I really think Ibrahim has put in a lot of work for this film. It’s really a lot of work from him. And as people already know, the camera really loves him. He is a very, very good-looking boy.”
