Akshay Kumar’s ‘Toilet- Ek Prem Katha’ is going great guns at the box office. After a successful weekend and a decent Monday, the film’s collection took a massive jump on Independence Day, and had a noticeable growth of 60% at multiplexes, from the previous day. On its first Tuesday, ‘TEPK’ has minted an amount as good as Rs 20 crore.

Tuesday, being a national holiday, was expected to bring good footfall in theatres, which it did. With this, the film’s total domestic collection so far is Rs 82 crore. It can be predicted that ‘TEPK’ won’t take long to enter the 100 crore club. However, the present week will play a crucial role in determining its fate at the box office. Box office analysts are assuming a lifetime collection of around Rs 150 crore for the Akshay Kumar, Bhumi Pednekar-starrer.

Elated with the success of his film, Akshay Kumar took to Instagram and thanked his fans for the unconditional love and support. He also shared with great pleasure that the percentage of population practising open defecation has come down to 34% from 54% in less than past one year.

‘Toilet- Ek Prem Katha’ is a satirical take on India’s sanitation system. Let’s see how the box office dynamics change with the new releases this week. ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’, ‘Partition: 1947’ and ‘Shreelancer’ are up for release this Friday.Â
