Actors getting mobbed while shooting for a movie is not an uncommon thing and the latest movie to join this list is ‘Shorgul’. ‘Shorgul’ is a political drama and the actors Jimmy Sheirgill, Ashutosh Rana and Narendra Jha who play politicians, devise ways to drive their vote bank by instigating communal hatred and plotting conspiracies. Many a times, actors would be hauled up by anti-social elements while shooting in remote areas of Uttar Pradesh.

Once, when Ashutosh, Jimmy and Sanjay Suri were shooting simultaneously amidst an election rally and a namaaz with more than 10000 people, they were mobbed due to limited security. Ashutosh played peacemaker out of the fear of them being pelted with stones as their shoot was disrupting the procession.

Then on another occasion, actor Narendra Jha apologised profusely to the huge crowd gathered while shooting as they assumed that he was a political leader. The director of the film, Jitendra Tiwari along with P Singh said, “We have tried to make the film to appear as realistic as possible. The actors have delivered an honest performance. ‘Shorgul’ is not the usual popcorn cinema. It is a film that will bridge audiences from the metros with those from the towns on a common ideology of how the common man’s dream is lost amidst bureaucratic motives.”

A 24 FPS Films Production, the Jimmy Sheirgill and Ashutosh Rana starrer is based on intolerance and aspires to make audiences contemplate where humanity stands amidst the noise of religious, social, political and economic prejudice. The movie which is slated to release on June 24 also features actors like Hiten Tejwani, Eijaz Khan, Suha Gezen, Anirudh Dave and Deepraj Rana.
