Vijay Thalapathy SLAMS DMK Government Over Derogatory Remarks On Women

After criticising DMK supporter Ponraj Vellaichamy for making derogatory remarks about women of the Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK), referring to them as ‘prostitutes’ in a tweet, actor-turned-politician and TVK chief Vijay Thalapathy filed a complaint with the Tamil Nadu DGP. A video clip showed Vijay leaving the office after submitting the complaint. Earlier, he had also issued a strongly worded statement on X (formerly Twitter) condemning Ponraj Vellaichamy’s comments.

Vijay Thalapathy SLAMS DMK Government Over Derogatory Remarks On Women

In a clip shared on X on Thursday, Vijay was seen exiting the police office after delivering his complaint. A fan account posted his letter to the DGP, urging strict legal action. His letter read, “I request you to take strict legal action against this person who has been speaking very badly about the women of Tamil Nadu and to protect the dignity and respect of women.”

Vijay’s Statement

Earlier, on X, Vijay expressed his stance in a strongly worded Tamil statement. It read: “A mercenary individual, acting as a supporter of the DMK, has spoken words that are unworthy of honouring my mother, sister, and younger sisters, who are truly deserving of pride and reverence in this land. His remarks are nothing but baseless criticism.”

He further stated, “On behalf of the Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam, I strongly condemn these opportunistic gamblers operating under the support of the DMK leadership. I also condemn the DMK government for failing to take any action against such individuals.”

He concluded by warning, “This act, which insults all women collectively and aims to provoke the TVK, will only strengthen the resolve of the motherland’s supporters. In the upcoming election, the collective voice of our women will ensure that the evil DMK is decisively defeated and driven out of the land.”

About The Controversy

Ponraj Vellaichamy previously stated in an interview, “Tamil Nadu is an intellectual state—known for high literacy and education standards. We should thank Vijay for exposing the fact that even in such a cultured state. There exists a mob of ignoramuses. It’s an unruly, uncultured mob of ignoramuses.”

He added, “It’s a mob of prostitutes—women who declare, ‘I don’t need a husband; I only want Vijay.’ We must commend Vijay for revealing to the world the existence of this mob of ignoramuses. A fan base filled with prostitutes—who claim they will be whatever he desires: a younger sister, an elder sister, or even a wife.”

Vijay has announced his intention to contest the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. He emphasised that the 2026 elections will be a direct contest between the “pure force” of TVK and the “evil force” of DMK.
