Karan Johar : ‘Baahubali’ becomes the highest opener

Filmmaker Karan Johar, who is presenting the Hindi version of S.S. Rajamouli’s magnum opus “Baahubali: The Beginning”, is elated with the response of the film and says that it is the highest opening of any movie.

The 43-year-old, who has associated with Rajamouli for the first time, took to Twitter on Saturday to acknowledge his work.

He tweeted –

“Baahubali: The Beginning”, the first part in a two-part war drama, which released on Friday, collected Rs.60 crore on its opening day itself.

In US alone, the film minted a whopping Rs.15 crore.

Produced by Arka Media Works, “Baahubali: The Beginning” released in over 4,000 screens in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam.

Featuring an ensemble cast of Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, Sathyaraj, Nassar, Adivi Sesh, Tanikella Bharani and Sudeep, “Baahubali: The Beginning” is Rajamouli’s first official release in Hindi.
