Speaking about the same, Amar told us, “It’s not about the big screen that is not been listening to me. It’s my personal life that I am looking at. Every actor has to look at himself and how much he can wait for a certain thing. I have a family, I was married, I had kids, I didn’t want to wait for films to come to me. Films would have come to me after LOC Kargil, or Dhund: The Fog, Jodi Kya Banayi Wah Wah Ramji. Movies would have come to me but there were a couple of months that I had to wait for another film to start or 6-7 months and I didn’t want to wait as an actor and as a family man.”

In between that Aruna Irani called me and told me, ‘Amar this is a role and I want you only to do that. I’ve tested 100 boys, I know you’re not doing TV but please come and meet me’. I knew once I met her I couldn’t say no to her. Aruna and I have a solid mother-son bond kind of thing. She called up so many times, my wife and I had ultimately gone and I did again. I came back so I didn’t want to wait so it’s upon an individual. If I wanted to wait then I would be in films only. But I don’t want but now one can do both,” the Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi actor said.

For the unversed, he played the role of Tabu’s disabled husband in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. Amar Upadhyay is now starring in the TV show Doree along with Sudha Chandran. The show is been aired on Colors TV.
