Read on to know what she shared.

Amruta Khanvilkar On Women Being Disrespected In The Industry

Talking about the industry and whether women often face disrespect, Amruta Khanvilkar dismissed the notion and stressed that respect goes beyond gender. She said, “Dekho aurat ya mard, har insan ki respect hoti hai, it’s what you make out of it, har artist ki apni apni respect hoti hai, toh ye gender ki joh hai mudda hi nahi hai.”

The actress further explained that self-respect and the way one carries oneself matter just as much. She added, “Har insaan ko apne apne wajood ke respect hoti hai, mujhe aisa lagta hai ye joh thode controversial questions hote hai na ki ‘aaj kal aurton ko respect nahi milti’, bhai mujhe bohot respect milti hai, and trust me this is coming from a very very personal experience ki main respect dena bhi jaanti hu, aur agar naa mile toh woh lena bhi jaanti hu.”

Amruta Khanvilkar Takes A Dig At Women’s Clothing Nowadays

Beyond the conversation about respect, Amruta Khanvilkar also spoke about fashion and personal comfort, sharing how she balances style with practicality while staying connected to her cultural roots. She said, “I think you should wear clothes that are comfortable, of course thode fashionable hone chahiye, but are comfortable and then you don’t feel awkward wearing those clothes, I mean, I have seen some Instagram reels jaha pe ladkiya aise kapde pehenti hai jaha pe samajh hi nahi aata, ki ye kyu pehna hai.”

The Taskaree actress further added, “But for me, I come from a very middle class Maharashtrian background and I’m very deeply rooted in my culture, my heritage and I take extreme pride in that, so for me a saree or a Punjabi suit is always going to be my go, but of course because you are in this industry you also need to dress up fashionably, toh mujhe aisa lagta hai ki kabhi kabhi jab aap western kapde pehente ho, western matlab kya ye co-ord set pehen liya, ya fir gown pehna, just be comfortable in that, that’s it.”

With her clear-headed outlook and strong sense of identity, Amruta continues to focus on confidence, self-respect and authenticity rather than outside noise. For her, dignity doesn’t depend on gender or trends; it comes from how you carry yourself, both on and off screen.
