EXCLUSIVE: Rakul Preet Singh Feels De De Pyaar De 2 Dad R Madhavan Can Be Her Father IRL; Quips, “We Even Calculated His Age And All”

Rakul Preet Singh opened up about her experience working with R. Madhavan in a father–daughter dynamic in De De Pyaar De 2. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, she shared that while Madhavan’s “Maddy era” belonged to her childhood, age becomes irrelevant once the camera rolls. Rakul Preet Singh Feels De De Pyaar De 2 Dad R Madhavan Can Be Her Father IRL

Speaking about working with R Madhavan in the role of a father and daughter, Rakul Preet Singh said, “But I was very little when the Maddy and romantic era came. Haan, but we’ve seen it na — it doesn’t matter. On screen tumko dikh raha hai na ki technically he can be my father. We even calculated that he can technically be my father in terms of age and all. But I feel when you’re on set, you don’t look at it like that, right? It’s a very clinical approach. And then you start believing, because you have to believe he’s my father.”

She continued, “There are so many scenes with him where, as a father–daughter emotion, you have to believe it, you have to see it from that lens. And I think from day one, you start looking at it from that lens. Did you connect with him on that level? I think I did. I wouldn’t say a fatherly level — I don’t know if that’s the connect — but I really connected with him. And I think I really look up to him. He is such a wise person, such a smart, intelligent, balanced gentleman. One of a kind. And I really look up to him with a lot of respect.”
