Bharti Singh faced criticism after making a body-shaming joke about Ayesha Khan during a recent episode of Laughter Chefs. Viewers took to social media to express their displeasure, calling the remark disrespectful and inappropriate. Returning as the host of Laughter Chefs Season 3, Bharti Singh welcomed the cast of Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2, including Kapil Sharma, to promote their film.
Bharti Singh Faces Criticism After She Body Shames Ayesha Khan
While Bharti is known for her comedic flair, her comment about Ayesha Khan’s appearance did not sit well with the audience, who felt it crossed a line. During the episode, Warina Hussain, Ayesha Khan, Tridha Dutta, and Parul Gulati entered the set and danced to the song Pahli Uddi Furrr from the film.
Soon after, Bharti remarked, saying, “Jab saari heroine aayi na, mujhe Ayesha ko dekh ke laga, Krushna phir se aa gaya, kyunki uski tarah lambi hai na,” implying that Ayesha’s height resembled Krushna’s, and making a comparison that many found offensive. Ayesha appeared visibly uncomfortable, hurriedly moving towards Kapil Sharma while trying to cover her stomach. Kapil asked Bharti, “Was this a compliment or what?” Parul Gulati also told Bharti, “You shouldn’t have said that,” to which Bharti replied, “Sorry, I am pregnant.”
Fans REACT To Bharti’s Remarks On Ayesha
The clip quickly went viral online, with many viewers criticising Bharti for her comment. Comments ranged from disappointment to anger, with one saying, “Bharti is rude to most women on the show, and body-shaming from someone who became famous mainly because of her own appearance is ironic.”
Another added, “This wasn’t funny and was just disrespectful to women of larger sizes, even though Ayesha isn’t even that big.” Other viewers expressed sympathy for Ayesha, stating, “I really felt bad for her. The comment was inappropriate,” and “Bharti is just a misogynist. Her mindset doesn’t change just because she’s a working woman.”
Several commenters also noted that the joke made Ayesha look embarrassed and uncomfortable, highlighting the issue of body-shaming.
