Cyber Crime Department Arrests 6 Accused In Jana Nayagan Leak Case

The team of Vijay Thalapathy’s final film have issued a legal notice following the online leak of Jana Nayagan. The Tamil film industry with the film’s leak online. In response, the producers have announced that legal action has been initiated against those responsible. They have warned audiences against downloading or sharing pirated content through unauthorised channels. Now, the legal representative of KVN Productions has provided an update on the case.

Vijayan Subhramanium, representing the makers’ legal team, shared an update on his X account, stating, “The Cyber Crime Department has already arrested six individuals in connection with the illegal circulation of leaked content from #JanaNayagan. Any person downloading, forwarding, sharing, or distributing leaked scenes via social media or digital platforms will be identified and subject to immediate criminal prosecution. Strict action will be taken without exception.”

A few days prior, the production house issued a legal notice after the leak emerged online. The notice, issued on behalf of KVN Productions, revealed their intent to pursue legal action. It stated, “I am the legal counsel for KVN Productions LLP, and I am issuing this Public Notice under my client’s instructions. My client is the producer of Jana Nayagan, starring Vijay, directed by H. Vinoth, with music composed by Anirudh Ravichander. The film has been produced with a substantial investment of several hundred crores and holds significant theatrical, satellite, OTT, and commercial value.”

The notice expressed shock and urgency over the leak. It emphasised that certain scenes from Jana Nayagan had been illegally accessed, downloaded, copied, and circulated by unknown individuals. This incident has created a serious threat of digital piracy across social media platforms.

The leak surfaced just ahead of Vijay’s entry into politics for the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. This has caused significant turmoil in the Tamil film industry. Chiranjeevi, Sivakarthikeyan, Suriya, GV Prakash Kumar and others have voiced their support for the makers, condemning piracy and illegal leaks.
