Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali is all geared up for his upcoming historical drama ‘Padmavati’. The National award-winning director, who is known for the lavish sets for his films has already started work on building a set for his next. The work has already started at Mehboob studios, though the details on what kind of setup is as yet not known. The set will be completed within two or three weeks.

Sources revealed, “The set is being made for ‘Padmavati’. The work started few days ago and it is likely to be completed in another two-three weeks. The shoot is likely to begin from next month so the set is getting ready at the earliest. The work for ‘Padmavati’ will begin from here (set at Mehboob studios). We were looking at having a set in Filmcity but it was booked. Later we might move in there (Filmcity) depending upon the availability.”

Bhansali known for portraying tragic love stories be it a ‘Sawaariya’ or ‘Bajirao Mastani’ has now taken up the story of Alauddin Khilji and his obsession with the beautiful Queen of Mewar, Padmavati. The film will apparently star Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor in pivotal roles.

If rumours do come true then it will the third film that Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone will be doing together with Sanjay Leela Bhansali after ‘Ram Leela’ and ‘Bajirao Mastani’.
